Resources of Resource (ROR) is an independent XML format for describing content and better understand underlying meaning in a generic fashion so that the content can be better understood by search engines, spiders, bots, web applications and more. Objects like sitemaps, events, classifieds, reviews, articles, jobs, songs, properties, products can be well defined using ROR. ROR format was created by Addme.com and RORweb.com is its official website. ROR objects as mentioned above like sitemap, products are placed in an ROR feed called ror.xml. This ror.xml file is always placed in root directory of the website it describes.

When a search engine searches a website, ROR lets the search engine spider recognize the website content, meaning and other attributes.

ROR provides a simple and structured way for resources to generically describe their content, resources, and relationships with other resources, and make this information available in one location on the resource, accessible to all interested. The goal of ROR is to facilitate the exchange of information and meaning between resources and/or applications, by providing a simple set of terms and mechanisms for describing their content, resources, and relationships with other resources, exploring the possibilities of the Semantic Web.
