Google Webmaster Tool Redesigned With New Features

Google Webmaster Tool launched in 2006 has been constantly up dating by adding new features, modifying existing and on 12th May 2009, Google released the new look for GWT Google Website Tool – the look has more information for you at the home page. Google webmaster tool new look offers a complete suite of features with a user friendly interface; all features are easily accessible from a single interface. Navigation and layout has been made simpler.

The Google Webmaster Tool Dashboard in general has to offer: Links to your site, Top search queries, Sitemaps, and Crawl errors. Google Webmaster Tool (old) Dashboard consist of following main tabs and sub-sections:

Content analysis to see potential problems with site metadata, such as title and meta description information. Mobile crawl looks into errors and problems encountered by Google's crawlers while accessing pages on your site created specifically for viewing on mobile cell phones.

4. Statistics - Top search queries, Crawl stats, Subscriber stats, what Googlebot sees, Index stats.

5. Links - Pages with external links, Pages with internal links, Sitelinks.

6. Sitemaps - Submit a Sitemap (Google Sitemap, .xml file) to tell Google about pages on your site we might not otherwise discover.

7. Tools - Analyze robots.txt, Generate robots.txt, Enhance 404 pages, Manage site verification, remove URLs from Google cache and index, Gadgets to access your website stats offered by Google Webmaster tool.

Important highlights of the new updated, redesigned Google webmaster tool are:
clear layout, all navigation available on home page interface(Links to your site, Top search queries, Sitemaps, and Crawl errors). Now more queries can be tracked per impression. the redesigned tool offers tracking of sitemap submitted by other users. Without login you can remain updated of any notification via email by subscribing to message center. Easy access to help center by streamlining help Center and grouping more logical sections together; you will see every page displays links to relevant help centers topic. The new version needs users to verify their sitemap either ping or by including sitemap in robot.txt, you need to completely verify your sitemap before you get access to complete functionality.

Enhanced Image Search option has been removed which was available in older version.
