'Caffeine' Next-Generation Architecture for Google's Web Search

With release of 'Caffeine', Next-Generation Architecture for Google's Web Search on 11th August 2009 Google updated its algorithm by creating a preview area/test area (sandbox) for user to test the update before its final release. Google Caffeine update is under way, and gives sandbox environment at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/.

Stated by Google Engineer "For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: a next-generation architecture for Google's web search, it's the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions".

"Google makes constant changes to its search algorithms and infrastructure, but such a change in this magnitude has not been done since 2006," said Matt Cutts, Principal Engineer, Google.

Google remains "Web Treasure Chest" web search engine. Google is supposed to crawl a large chunk of the web; after web page crawl Google will index those web pages and then compute its quality value for the search. If Google finds those pages relevant for search queries then will show those pages in SERPs.

Google invites us to visit web developers preview of Google's new infrastructure at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ and try searches there. The feedback is appreciated so that Google can figure out difference between current search and new-generation architecture. These feedback will be read by Google engineers to compare the two web search engines results.

How to give feedback for Google 'Caffeine': Do a search at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ and look on the search results page for a link at the bottom of the page that says "Dissatisfied? Help us improve." Click on that link, type your feedback in the text box and then include the word caffeine somewhere in the text box. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

For language or country specific feedback on new-architecture search results, Google welcomes feedback, just we need to make few changes to sandbox URL query parameter.
You can change these two values appropriately:
hl = language
gl = country code

With Caffeine update Google is not changing its user interface, visual appearance will remain the same. This update is also not going to affect Ads ranking on Google web search engine.
